The Compass
Find your next step after an autism diagnosis.
When everything feels important, it can be hard to know where to begin. This short Compass will help you slow down, notice what is affecting daily life most, and choose one supportive place to start.
You do not need to figure out everything today.
How this works
You'll answer nine short questions about everyday life: communication, big feelings, routines, connection, and what feels most pressing to you. It takes about three to five minutes, you can go back and change any answer, and there are no wrong answers and no score.
At the end you'll get one suggested starting point, a small step to try this week, questions to ask providers, and a sense of which professionals may be relevant. You can save or print it.
What this is and isn't
The Compass is educational. It does not diagnose your child, measure them against other children, or replace individualized care from a professional who knows them. It's a place to begin, not a verdict.
Privacy
Your answers stay in your browser on this device and generate your result right here. They are not sent anywhere, stored on a server, or attached to your email if you later choose to join the email list. When you close this page, they're gone.
Educational, not diagnostic. The Compass doesn't diagnose your child or prescribe treatment. It helps you choose a place to begin. Made by The NeuroAffirming SLP.
Before we go on
Thank you for telling me.
What you just selected deserves attention from a licensed professional, and your result will put that first. If anything on that list feels urgent right now, you don't need to finish this Compass before making a call. Your pediatrician's office is the right first stop for almost all of it, and emergency services are the right stop for immediate danger or breathing changes.
If it's a concern but not an emergency, let's keep going. The rest of your answers will still help us find what matters next.
One last look
Here's what you told me.
Change anything that doesn't feel right, or keep going. There are no wrong answers.
